How to host a live quiz with Tuggoo

From an empty account to a room full of players, in seven steps. It takes about ten minutes the first time.

  1. Step 1

    Create your free account

Sign up with your work email and name your organization. Everyone you invite to the organization can create and host too.

  2. Step 2

    Create a Tuggoo

Give it a title and add questions. You can type them, import them from a CSV, Excel or JSON file, start from a template, or use Create with AI to draft them from a topic or an uploaded PDF, Word, PowerPoint or text file. Everything the AI drafts stays a draft until you publish it.

  3. Step 3

    Choose your question types

Mix scored questions (multiple choice, multiple select, true or false, image choice, type the answer, fill in the blank, ranking and matching) with opinion questions (poll, word cloud, rating and short answer).

  4. Step 4

    Publish

Tuggoo checks each question before publishing and tells you if anything needs fixing, such as a question without a correct answer.

  5. Step 5

    Choose how people play

Select Host live and pick a mode: Live game with speed and streak bonuses and a leaderboard, Team game, Practice without scores, Assessment with answers hidden until the end, or Self-paced with a deadline.

  6. Step 6

Open the lobby and let players join

Put the lobby on the big screen. Players go to tuggoo.com/join, type the PIN or scan the QR code, and choose a nickname. You can lock joining once everyone is in.

  7. Step 7

Run the questions and review the results

Start, and each question appears on every phone at once. Show the correct answer and the leaderboard between questions, then open the report to see accuracy and answer times for every question and player, and export them.

Tips for a good session

  • Keep a live session to 8–12 questions; attention drops after about fifteen minutes.
  • Start with an easy question so everyone feels confident joining in.
  • Add explanations to quiz questions; they appear after each answer and do the teaching.
  • Use a poll or word cloud between scored questions to give the room a breather.
  • Test the join flow on your own phone before the session starts.
